Please note that from December 31, 2024, according to Article 182a , it will be mandatory to affix a qualified seal (or equivalent: qualified signature or EDI transmission) for a tax-relevant document (e.g. invoice) to be valid in digital format.
What is the difference between Qualified Electronic Signature and Qualified Electronic Stamp?
The signature is in the name of an individual, either privately or as the legal representative of a collective entity.
The seal is in the name of a collective entity, namely companies.
How is the Qualified Electronic Stamp placed?
1. The company fills in a form so that Contisystems can secure the purchase of the certificate, issued by a CA (Certification Authority), on its behalf.
2. The company identifies the approximate volume of documents it wishes to sign (affix the seal) so that Contisystems can buy the number of seals needed to start affixing them from CA.
3. When a seal needs to be affixed to a document, this is done in an HSM (Hardware Security Module) without the document having to leave the Unicks secure area, just its hash (mathematical algorithm for encryption).
